However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top pick. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.

Still, it's very good, especially if you want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly unfinished home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used while you're at work, or at school. The only thing it lacks that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you need to, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. 3. IRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba rather than the boxes This mop and robot vacuum is among the most appealing looking in our reviews. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device that could be a problem if you run it in the morning before work or at night as you try to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable, but it's more expensive and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

This lets you inform the robot of which area of your home needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. If you have furniture, a stairway mode is also a good option. Also, a recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you might think from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using only one pad and a rotating motion that cleans better that most mop cleaners for robots that we've tried. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app also gives access to a variety of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. And you can set up a spot cleaning that scours a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It does a good job vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to get caught on low thresholds and is more noisy than the other top robotic vacuums we've tried. It also has an app that's not as intuitive and a small base station that can't double as a bin to empty.
